Early childhood educator Nicolle Wood \u2013 or Nikki as she is affectionately known by the children she teaches at Mooringe World of Learning in Plympton \u2013 has just celebrated a huge milestone of 30 years working at the centre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing her Diploma in Children\u2019s Services more than three decades ago, Nikki has dedicated her career to placing children at the heart of everything she does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nikki has taught more than 1,000 children throughout her time at Mooringe World of Learning, and said the biggest highlight of her time at the centre is seeing the children grow and develop throughout their learning journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI truly love my job and feel so grateful to have taught so many children over the past 30 years,\u201d said Nikki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThirty years may sound like a long time, but it really has gone so fast, it\u2019s been really nice connecting with families and I have been lucky enough to work with some of my family members at the centre as well as have some of my family members attend the centre.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World of Learning Mooringe Centre Manager Sue Francis said Nikki is very passionate and dedicated to her job, and to educating children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe really gets to know each child, what their strengths are and has always recognised that no two children are the same and that they each will experience their own learning journey,\u201d said Ms Francis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNikki goes above and beyond every day and I feel really lucky to have worked with her for almost three decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have witnessed the magic in the room when she interacts with our children each day in the centre \u2013 she has a real connection with each of them and brings out the best in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNikki had some time off recently and she couldn\u2019t wait to get back to work because she missed the children so much.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Families and individuals who have experienced Nikki\u2019s care and guidance over the years are invited to share their memories with the centre via email. These will be compiled into a special keepsake for Nikki to commemorate the milestone. Please forward these to mooringe@worldoflearning.com.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
