What is an Early Childhood Teacher?

Early childhood teachers have obtained an approved degree qualification and work with children in their formative years. They introduce children to the school environment and help them to develop key skills that provide the basis for all future learning. All long day care and kindergarten/pre-school services are required to have access to a qualified early childhood teacher or have one in attendance at the service.

Visit the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) website to read the requirements to be recognised as an early childhood teacher.
