What is Ratio in Child Care and Early Education?
Ratios are the number of educators working directly with children, based on the ages and numbers of children in a service. The National Quality Framework (NQF) sets out the minimum child ratio requirements for children’s education and care services. Find out the different ratio requirements for different age groups here.
Maintaining appropriate ratios is critical to ensuring safe and high-quality care. It is required by the National Law and Regulations to ensure the educator ratios are met at all times.
