What is Waitlist in Child Care and Early Education?

Child care centres have limited capacities for how many children they are able to provide for, in order to meet legal ratios and assure the quality of their service. Once a centre has reached its full capacity, it may create a waiting list for additional interested families.

You may find that the days of the week you’re interested in enrolling your child are not available, and there are limited capacities for other days. You can either choose other days, or stay on the waitlist for your desired days. It is up to your family’s individual circumstances.
