G8 Education welcomes Federal Budget

G8 Education has welcomed last night’s Federal Budget, that outlined the Government’s investment in the early childhood education and care sector (ECEC).

G8 Education Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Pejman Okhovat congratulated the Federal Government on their budget that highlighted the importance of a child’s participation in early childhood education and care, in line with the findings of the Productivity Commission.

“We have strongly advocated for all families across Australia to have access to at least three days per week of high-quality early learning and care for every child, so we welcome the inclusion of the funding to support this initiative in last night’s budget,” said Mr Okhovat.

“We strongly believe that a child’s participation in early childhood education and care should not depend on their parents’ circumstances.”

“The budget includes funding to address issues beyond affordability, including addressing workforce shortages, improving access for vulnerable children and those in very remote areas, and ensuring that quality standards improve.”

“G8 also acknowledges the support provided by the Federal Government for the impact of Cyclone Alfred on Queensland’s ECEC providers.”

“With more than 400 centres across Australia, G8 Education looks forward to continuing to work with Government on a roadmap that delivers better outcomes for children, families, our team and a sustainable sector for future.”
