G8 Education, one of Australia’s largest national providers of quality early childhood education and care (ECEC), has today welcomed the Federal Government’s announcement that it will extend the Worker Retention Payment (WRP) for 19 months.
G8 Education Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Pejman Okhovat highlighted the WRP’s importance to educators and families.
“G8 Education is grateful to the Federal Minister for Education, the Hon Jason Clare MP and the Minister for Early Childhood Education & Minister for Youth, Senator the Hon Dr Jess Walsh for their hard work on ensuring the Worker Retention Payment could be extended,” Mr. Okhovat said.
“High-quality early childhood education is critical for lifelong learning and wellbeing, and I applaud the Federal Government for their ongoing work to support educators in the ECEC sector.
“The extended funding is a welcome relief for families, our dedicated team, and the sector, as it will help the sector retain experienced educators who are integral to providing high-quality and safe learning environments for children around the country.
“More than 7,000 of our incredible centre team members will continue to receive the worker retention payment, recognising the vital role they play in enriching the lives of children across Australia.”
