G8 Education, one of Australia’s largest national providers of quality early childhood education and care (ECEC), has today welcomed the Queensland Government’s announcement that it will establish the new child safeguarding entity, the Queensland Protection Commission (QPC).
G8 Education Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Pejman Okhovat highlighted the vital role the establishment of the QPC will have in bolstering child safety in Queensland.
“G8 Education is grateful to the Premier of Queensland, the Hon David Crisafulli MP, and the Attorney General, the Hon Deborah Frecklington, for delivering reforms to strengthen child protection in Queensland,” Mr. Okhovat said.
“The safety of the children in our care is our number one priority, and I applaud the Queensland Government for their commitment to boosting the safety of children, and bringing together the Reportable Conduct Scheme, Child Safe Standards and Working with Children Check functions under one roof.
“Centralising safeguarding functions is key to creating a more coordinated approach in keeping children safe, and G8 Education welcomes the enhanced oversight and accountability that the QPC will bring.”
