G8 Education has formally signed the Multi-Enterprise Agreement that will deliver better conditions and a well-deserved 15 per cent pay increase for workers in the Early Education and Care (ECEC) sector.
G8 Education Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Pejman Okhovat acknowledged the significance of signing today’s Agreement.
“Today’s signing of the Multi-Employer Agreement is a milestone moment for the Early Education and Care sector that means early childhood educators, including G8 team members, will receive a 10 per cent pay rise in December 2024, with a further 5 per cent increase in December 2025,” Mr. Okhovat said.
“High-quality early childhood education is critical for lifelong learning and well-being, and I applaud the Federal Government for their ongoing work to support educators in the ECEC sector.
“As the first and largest childcare operator to join the MEB process, G8 Education has worked closely with the Government, Unions and the Fair Work Commission for the past 18 months to access funding for the wage increases for our team.”
G8 Education team members voted in an overwhelming majority to sign up to the MEA with 99% favourable vote.
“Our passionate and dedicated team of centre managers, assistant managers, educators, teachers, support workers and cooks in our G8 centres work hard every day to provide the best possible outcomes for children and families,” Mr. Okhovat said.
“Their work has an impact beyond the classroom that plays a pivotal role in ensuring positive outcomes for children and families later in life.”
G8 Education will continue to advocate to improve the lives of our educators and the families they work so hard to support.
