G8 Education has welcomed the Federal Government’s announcement today to fund wage increases for Early Childhood Educators that will support the Early Childhood Education sector, including G8 Education’s more than 10,000 educators.

G8 Education Chief Executive Officer Pejman Okhovat said G8 Education is committed to providing high quality early learning for Australian children and families, and we will continue to work with the Federal Government and those in the sector to address workforce challenges, access and affordability.

“Our dedicated Educators are our greatest asset and the work they do each day in our centres has an impact beyond the classroom. It’s widely recognised that high-quality early childhood education plays a pivotal role in ensuring positive outcomes later in life,” he said.

“G8 Education is the largest childcare provider that voluntarily joined the MEB process to advocate on behalf of our team and sector for the Government to recognise their contribution by funding a well-deserved pay rise. G8 Education is committed to continuing to work closely with the Government, Unions and the Fair Work Commission to ensure the best outcome for educators in the sector so that we provide the best possible outcomes for children and families.”

G8 Education looks forward to further information and detail required around this wage increase announcement over the coming months.

Against the backdrop of Early Learning Matters Week, we acknowledge the Federal Government’s announcement today that is a win for educators and families.
